Zebra Standing Tswehe, Tuli Block, Botswana
Image Name: Silent Companions
(Scientific Name – Equus Quagga)
The dust has risen, now it falls
A quiet veil between us all
Two still bodies, stripes of night
Holding silence, holding sight.
Our gaze is steady, sharp profound,
We read the air, we feel the ground
Not fleeting prey, not unseen
But ancient rhythm, fierce – serene.
In this pause the world is clear
We are the watchers, we are here.
In the aftermath of galloped dust, two zebra stand aligned — one behind the other, both gazing ahead into the unseen.
Their stripes ripple through the grey veil like calligraphy of purpose and patience.
The world dissolves around them, yet their form remains unwavering, luminous against uncertainty.
